Protocol: An original draft; a code perscribing strict adherence to correct ettiquette and precedence; diplomatic (zzzzz.... puts you to sleep just thinking about it. Watch out!)
Consider the following ways in which the Lord breaks protocol. I am thinking about doing something out of the BOX! Not expected. Not necessarily a miracle, but ususally included. Just not the way the adverage jo would think it should be done. God keeps us on our toes:
Matt 1: 18-21 An engaged virgin becomes pregnant by the Holy Ghost and becomes the mother of her creator's Son
Luke 1: 5-25 An elderly lady who never was able to conceive, becomes pregnant with a promised child
Mark 2: 15-17 Jesus has dinner with the "Publicans and sinners"
Mark 6: 47-51 Jesus catches up to his disciples at night who are on their way to the other side of the lake, by walking on the water
Mark 7: 32-35 Jesus heals a deaf man by sticking his fingers in his ears and spitting and touching his tongue
Mark 8:1-9 Jesus feeds tens of thousands of people with a few fishes and loaves
Mark 8: 22 Jesus uses spit to heal a blind man
Mark 11: 2-7 Jesus helps himself to a donkey that has never been trained and rides it into Jerusalem
Mark 11: 15-17 Jesus walks into the temple and dumps over all the merchants tables and drives them out
We are no more than a grain of sand on the bottom of the ocean floor compared to how big our GOD is. We can't dump the plan of salvation into a pre-made mold. Gods ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. We cannot dump our children into little molds of what our preconceived idea of a "true Christian" is. We have to teach them faithfully the truth and let the truth work its way into their heart and out agian. Remember: JESUS is the author and finisher of our childrens faith. Show them how BIG and how WONDERFUL he is in YOUR life and diligently teach them and train them in the way they should go and the promise is for us: "when they are old, they will not depart from it".
You cannot "raise a christian" they have to be born of God.
