Kids Versions Songs

When my Kids were little, they sometimes heard songs in the funniest ways.
Shane would sing: "Theres been a change in my wife, since the Lord took away all sin and strife..."

Miracle in the making was: "There's a merry-go-round, in the microwave..."

"I'm getting ready to leave this world, I'm geting ready for the gates of pearls,
Keeping my record bright, WASHING all day and night...."

Felecia on the other hand loved to bring the gospel into her little songs she sang such as:
"Bumping up and down in my little red wagon, wont you be my darlin. One wheel's off and the axles broken, won't you be my darlin. Brother Bill is gonna fix it with his Bible-"

Got any funny ones to share???

Training Verses Teaching

To learn more about salvation please visit the church of God where the truth is preached and lived.

"Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

Training is more than teaching. We teach by a lesson "you should share. It is good to share." We give examples; we tell a story; we inspire...and we hope.
But teaching is not training. To train a sapling to grow in the right way, we tie it to a stake and sometimes add other supports. Then we keep it pruned. This we do to train it to grow straight up. We have to tie it or force it, so to speak, in the beginning.
It is the same with children. If we want to train them to share, we must begin by making them share. Hold them to it. We begin by tying them to the rule, until it becomes natural for them. Later, after they have grown stronger, we can untie and enjoy the beauty and grace of their training.
Form good habits and they will work for them later. A habit of prayer and Bible reading, may just be a form for them right now. It won't save them, but when they do give their hearts and lives to the Lord Jesus Christ of their own free will, it will work for them to help keep them close to God.
If we let them grow wild, they may be beautiful in a sense to look at, as a wild over grown fruit tree, but a well trained tree produces more and better fruit; and that is what the Lord wants...fruit.

Moms are Miraculous!

This is a journal entry from 3-3-1998 Felecia was 6 Shane was 5:

My children are quite fascinated with their mothers several ablilities and continue to boost my ego with their congenial conversations such as thus:

Felecia (speaking to Shane) "Mommy can make orange juice!"
Shane: "I know"
Felecia: "No! I mean she can make orange juice without a can fro the store!"
Shane: "Nuh uh!"
Felecia: "YES SHE CAN!!!"
Shane: (speaking to mom who is busying herself with breakfast preparations) "Mom? Can you make orange juice without a can from the store?"
Mom: (feeling quite proud of herself) "Yes I can"
Shane looks at felecia eyes wide open and then smiles in complete fascination and adoration for his mom and then asks her, " CAN YOU MAKE APPLE JUICE TOO?"
Mom: " Well... I could try" :-)
Kids mouths drop open and they are speachless-

Chatter! Chatter! Chatter!
While the morning away
Whether we sing, clap, or dance
Or are kneeling down to pray

Happpy! Simply, Happy!
Carefree, Light, Content
Toys, books, work and play
is how our day is spent

Oh Happy, Joyful home
With Jesus here to stay
We thank our God and give Him praise
At the close of every day!

I wrote this years ago---A prayer for my baby

"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come; for men shall be lovers of their own selves, coveteous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Whithout natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God, having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away" 2Tim 3:1-5

Dear Lord,

This scripture troubles my mind. I have within me the most precious gift...a baby, given from thy merciful hand... yet, I fear for its future. We are in the perilous times that you warned us about. If only I can give my baby YOU! I know all will be well. No, I don't want to give it religion, forms, customs, but YOU! You have given me such hope and happiness. Before I knew you I was terribly lost and sad. Life held no meaning to me. I never understood why, oh why, I was here in this terrible world. But then you came to me. Someone told me you loved me and wanted to live in my heart. Oh what a glorious and blessed night; to know that JESUS loves me! You saved me and gave me a new and happy life, FREE from sin....and all that goes with it. You've been "an ever present help in time of need". You never fail!
Yes, if I can only teach my children to you with all their heart. If YOU become their dearest friend as you have been mine, then I have peace to know, that no matter what the future holds, they will be alright.
Oh Lord, grant thine handmaid natural affection for her baby. Help me to be a dear, loving mother. In Jesus name, Amen-

God Breaks Protocol

Protocol: An original draft; a code perscribing strict adherence to correct ettiquette and precedence; diplomatic (zzzzz.... puts you to sleep just thinking about it. Watch out!)

Consider the following ways in which the Lord breaks protocol. I am thinking about doing something out of the BOX! Not expected. Not necessarily a miracle, but ususally included. Just not the way the adverage jo would think it should be done. God keeps us on our toes:
Matt 1: 18-21 An engaged virgin becomes pregnant by the Holy Ghost and becomes the mother of her creator's Son
Luke 1: 5-25 An elderly lady who never was able to conceive, becomes pregnant with a promised child
Mark 2: 15-17 Jesus has dinner with the "Publicans and sinners"
Mark 6: 47-51 Jesus catches up to his disciples at night who are on their way to the other side of the lake, by walking on the water
Mark 7: 32-35 Jesus heals a deaf man by sticking his fingers in his ears and spitting and touching his tongue
Mark 8:1-9 Jesus feeds tens of thousands of people with a few fishes and loaves
Mark 8: 22 Jesus uses spit to heal a blind man
Mark 11: 2-7 Jesus helps himself to a donkey that has never been trained and rides it into Jerusalem
Mark 11: 15-17 Jesus walks into the temple and dumps over all the merchants tables and drives them out

We are no more than a grain of sand on the bottom of the ocean floor compared to how big our GOD is. We can't dump the plan of salvation into a pre-made mold. Gods ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. We cannot dump our children into little molds of what our preconceived idea of a "true Christian" is. We have to teach them faithfully the truth and let the truth work its way into their heart and out agian. Remember: JESUS is the author and finisher of our childrens faith. Show them how BIG and how WONDERFUL he is in YOUR life and diligently teach them and train them in the way they should go and the promise is for us: "when they are old, they will not depart from it".
You cannot "raise a christian" they have to be born of God.

All Things Are Possible with God

Romans 15:12- Now 'The GOD of HOPE' fill YOU with ALL JOY and PEACE in believing, that YOU may ABOUND IN HOPE through the power of the Holy Ghost

Mark 9:23- Jesus said unto him, If YOU can BELIEVE, ALL things are possible to him that believeth.

Luke 18:27- And he said, The things which are impossible with men, ARE POSSBLIE WITH GOD!!!!

Luke 1:37- For with GOD, NOTHING shall be impossible!!!!

1 John 5:14-15- And this is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, HE HEARETH US- AND we KNOW that we HAVE (not will have or hopefully have, HAVE) our petitions that we desired of him!
